1. Take Hana Highway / State Highway 36 (East)

note: set your odometer to 0 as you get on Hwy 36 (your first turn is in 18 miles)

landmarks/notes:

• drive through town of Paia (if you set your odometer you'll be at 5.8 miles)

• pass Mama's Fish House (if you set your odometer you'll be at 7.2 miles)

• keep winding along Hwy 36 another 15-20 minutes

• at Kaupakalua Road, Hwy 36 changes name to Hwy 360 and the mile markers restart (still Hana Hwy)

• pass the 2 mile marker

• pass Twin Falls Farm Stand (if you set your odometer you'll be at 17 miles)

• as the road dips, slow down and you will see a white 25 mph sign and a dozen mailboxes on your right

• look for Ulalena Loop on your left (if you set your odometer you'll be at 18 miles)

• a large rock on the left side of the road is painted with powder blue dots

• the road opposite Ulalena Loop is marked "Private Road"

2. Left at Ulalena Loop

• follow this road .5 miles

• the road feels like it forks at Honokula Road, but stay left

• go slowly, the road is windy, unpaved in parts, and has dense vegetation

3. Third Right at Ho'olowa Road

• follow this road .8 miles

• at stop sign turn left

• Windward Garden is the first driveway on your left (paved), you can see the B&B from the road
